YESTERDAY:
Russian Economy in TATTERS, collapse imminent.
Russian Army fast running out of Tanks and Missiles and Men.

TODAY:
Russian Economy 4.1% GDP and stable.
Russian Army replacing military equipment at "Unprecedented Pace", while their troop numbers are large enough to allow regular rotations along the whole 2000km battlefront.

Interesting recent comparisons between drones and artillery, drones generally incapacitate armoured vehicles and then artillery is used after to kill it beyond repair.

So if you can retrieve the injured tank before it's killed it can generally be repaired within days and reappear on the battlefield. This means the armoured vehicle loss stats are very unreliable.

Kellogg tells Fox news the unconditional ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia is still on (it really isn't) and is closer than ever to agreement (no, really it's not). So Zelensky calls for more countries to send troops to Ukraine as the best way forward for peace (really no, it's not).

Note also that Zelensky specifically asked for combat troops, not the wishy washy peacekeeping kind.

The US meanwhile, having given up the chairmanship of the monthly NATO Ukraine meetings last month, this month is not even bothering to turn up at all.

Kellogg is a faint, a distraction, and has been right from the start. He's keeping Ukraine and EU/UK diverted while the actual negotiations are with Witkoff (the bloke meeting with real Russians in the White house right now).

Trump wants an agreement so the US can get out (with some kind of dignity) and reminder that Witkoff has already inferred that Russia is likely to keep Crimea and the 4 eastern oblasts (maybe with new referendums).

All that's really needed is elections in Ukraine to get rid of Zelensky.

there was a need to adjust some items of the enemy's total losses - OTR UAVs and cruise missiles.
The total figure has been adjusted, and losses per day are reported in the usual mode.
The estimated total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 05.04.25 were approximately /

Trump getting his knickers in a twist over Ukraine as was predicted by many who were advising he recognised the truth and just walk away from the conflict at the start of his presidency.

Trump is now getting frustrated with Putin for not signing an unconditional ceasefire after Putin said from the start there would be no such ceasefire until the causes of the conflict were dealt with. Then there could be a forever ceasefire.

Trump just saying no NATO for Ukraine was never going to be enough but so far that's the only thing his whole team, after 3 months, has come up with.

A real tell-tail that there was never going to be any progress is the fact that Zelensky has made no effort to reverse the no talks between Ukraine with Russia constitutional law he put in place in 2022.

Changing the constitution may well be the ultra-nationalists tripwire for going after Zelensky. That they have threatened to assassinate Zelensky if he looks like dealing with the Russians is well known.

So as for stalling, it may be that everyone is stalling and just allowing the conflict to run it's course.

Ukraine is again fast running out of equipment and money and it looks doubtful Trump is going to go to congress and ask for more. It's looking even more doubtful that even if asked congress will vote for more anyway, just not enough Democrat and neocon congressional voters left.

Great news, the EU/UK have realised (after 3 years) they'll need to talk to Putin after all, but what on earth they're going to say is a mystery.

Presumably they'll tell Putin to get out of Ukraine directly, pay the world gazillions in reparations, and hand himself over to a western high security prison without delay :eh:

There seems to be confusion within the two Trump negotiating teams. Certainly the Rubio Waltz team don't seem to understand Russia's determination for a deal that addresses the root causes of the conflict, Rubio is instead looking to stick on a quick fix band-aid and job done deal.

Putin is not interested in shortcuts that bypass dealing with the core issues. And he is also not impressed with the Trump team's threats, new 'bone breaking' sanctions !!!!! Taking the level of sanctions up from level 3 up to level 10 !!!!! All US hyperbole given that sanctions have clearly not worked, Russia doesn't even bother adding the lifting of them as part of any agreements.

Now Rubio is saying that if Russia push on with their new spring offensive then that will mean they are not at all interested in peace. FFS, the war will go on unless a deal can be reached that Putin can accept, if that's not done then the conflict will just continue (or restart automatically after any ceasefire). There is only so many times Putin can keep repeating the same basic point.

More sanctions - phfft, that seems to be the limit of US/EU/UK threats. For 2 years I have been pointing out reports that Russia had 200,000 troops standing by in Ukraine, they have been used for rotations but the main reason they were there was in case NATO did actually send their own troops.

Seems highly unlikely now, the EU/UK have just realised they don't actually have any troops and so the US would have to provide a 'backstop', to do any actual fighting that is.

It should be clear to everyone by now that the US has no intention of getting bogged down with troops on the ground in Ukraine just to teach Putin a lesson.

The US won't because they have more important things on their mind, China, compared to 4 Ukrainian oblasts.

Besides, the US are now genuinely concerned they wouldn't actually be able to beat Russia on a attrition type land-based battlefront, certainly not easily at least.

Horrific exclusive in The Kyiv Independent.

The extensive report paints a picture of an army in collapse.

"Ukraine's Desperate Race to Train More Soldiers"

"... at least 50% of the recruits arrive unmotivated to train and join the war efforts, often because they were forcefully mobilized."

'the Ukrainian military faces an endemic manpower shortage and is forced to scramble for people to fill in the gaps in the infantry depleted by the war.'

'The sink-or-swim situation, in which recruits either make it out alive by learning on their own or face casualties, is costing a horrifying level of losses, the interviewees say.'

6 weeks basic training (recently increased from just 4), which are mostly spent watching demonstrations, they are then supposed to spend time on the second line to complete training but acute troop shortages means they actually get sent straight to the frontline.

Of course new recruits suffer the largest casualty rate and they in turn are replaced with new recruits.

'it is "a big tragedy" that soldiers often lack basic training, including shooting practice.'

"Everything" is missing, including tactical medicine training, which means recruits use the tourniquets incorrectly which can cost a limb on the front line.'

Why would the pro-Ukrainian news outlet be telling the Ukrainian people this immediately before an expected major Russian offensive?

As I have pointed out before, very few leaders in history have ever been allowed to let defeat get so out of hand before calling time.

Truth is finally breaking down the wall of propaganda that Zelensky's been hiding behind and he deserves all that's coming to him.

The Islamic Republic is surrounded and slowly China is getting involved too. They’ve recently sent some missiles to Iran and things are getting really messy. I wish China would get directly involved too.
