I don't have an antivirus installed anymore
each time I got a new EXE, I run it through VirusTotal website which tests on dozens of engines
it's much safer that way
of course it's a bit more risky if you forget to scan any new file, but the scanning is more precise

Me too. When I download anything from the net, e.g. indicators from FS,
I scan it using VirusTotal. Some safety additions / extensions to the browser
are also helpful.

It has never even occurred to me to worry about indicators uploaded here, to be honest.

The sense of my post was another, as I scan simply everything
that I download, which I wanted to stress. No hidden / particular context.

That's a good way to remain safer. I'll try to follow.

I generally barely download things these days, so there is not a lot to scan.
