Hmm, there was no Nazi national anthem. They didn't changed the anthem at all. 'The Song of Germans' is a poem from 1841 (the melody of the anthem is even from 1797). Today we only learn and sing the third stave (first and second stave are strictly forbidden) because of the beginning "Germany, Germany over everything - Everything in the world". That was clearly misunderstood by some idiot grandpas in 1939 and we distance ourselves from them. Translate it differently and replace Germany and you have "America first." :?seekers wrote:At an international tennis match, U.S. officials accidentally played the Nazi national anthem. White House adviser Steve Bannon was outraged and said, “We’re not rolling that out till August — c’mon!”
