I had the same problem and finally I made the simplified version

cTrader -- an alternative to MT5
Just got my login details for cTrader two hours ago and spent an hour figuring out the platform.
I have made three indicators that you can see on the chart.
I reckon it will take about a day or two to complete my latest setup but it appears to be fairly easy to do.

Originally my problem with MT5 was that I was able to back everything up by copying the MQL5 folder and then zipping it up to another ssd drive as well as the cloud -- so if I needed to ever start another instance of MT5 all I had to do was install it then copy over the current backed up MQL5 folder and I was good to go as all my Indicators, experts, scripts and templates would be in the MQL5 folder and this gave me peace of mind.

That peace of mind was broken with the installation of the new Windows 25H2 as about 70% of my existing files would not compile plus other issues with fonts etc making it a headache to create workarounds -- this has led me to looking elsewhere for a stable platform hence cTrader.

I have in the last hour created three indicators as you can see in the enclosed 15 min chart of Gold.

Now with cTrader all my files are on the cloud so all you need to do is login from any computer and you are ready to start trading again -- plus I can cold store all my cTrader files on my ssd drive, usb and other cloud services which gives me that peace of mind once again.

I am glad that Ctrader platform will get more attention on this site.
Last year @Thoth was doing similar things. He was able to get XARD system on Ctrader.

Porting MT5 to cTrader is off the charts (pun intended)

When I migrated my MT4 indicators to MT5, it was a three-week nightmare. In contrast, porting MT5 to cTrader has been seamless. I’m flying through it—identifying old errors and optimizing code as I go.

We often get stuck in our ways and ignore alternatives until an emergency forces our hand. I’m glad I finally took notice.

I’ve already ported seven indicators today, and I’m very happy with this "Gen 1" version of the setup. I’m really enjoying cTrader’s foundation. Because cTrader Automate is built entirely on C# (.NET), it’s robust, modern, and strictly typed. It is significantly easier to write clean, reliable code compared to the sometimes quirky nature of MQL5.

This is peace of mind in the making. For now, I’m strictly porting my existing setup, but I’m looking forward to exploring the full potential of cTrader later.

Hi Xard,
I wanted to thank you for the tremendous work you are doing.
I am learning to use your system and I must say that initially I had a sort of rejection due to the confusion of dots/lines/arrows/moving averages/etc.
Once you understand it, however, you try to use it to its fullest potential, trading only when conditions are optimal (big dot for example).
That said, I only trade H4 because I don't want the stress of charts and work using D1 as roadmap in conjiunction with s2x Oracle on 2 upper TF.
Question: is the template I find inside zip file optimal for H4 or do I need to change some settings, for example in the semaphore?
Or something else?
