My friend, I am firmly in the scalping camp. NOT a position trader nor a swing trader. Day trading also seems to in time, get me into trouble. My trading at the moment is the first 2 hours of the Australian market and then the first two hours of the Hang Seng.

Many, many thanks to you and also the mighty FourXXXX and the FS gang.

Warm Regrads

Before I used to look at the 30min trend but I changed it today after realizing the wrong entry I took could have been avoided if I had looked at the 1H trend instead. I did a few months of backtesting to confirm that with the way I trade, the 1H trend gives a better trend direction than the 30M.
i think there is always an argument for this, and if you look at 4H you will also avoid some bad trades that you'd took looking at 1H. But you will also miss a lot of trades.

Anyway as a new trader i'm loving this discussion of time frames. I hate 1M personally

To be honest, I really thought I had it all down on the 30 min, but yesterday's failed entry was the 1st one in like 3 months and it got me questioning everything, so I decided to go backtest my previous entries in the past 3 months using the 1 hour instead. They seem ok for now but I'm really hoping they stay like that and I don't end up questioning whether I should move up to the 4-hour now.

I also hate the 1M. When I was a complete newbie I started on the 1M on demo and I failed so many trades and didn't feel like I was making any kind of progress. I moved up and that's when I realized basically anything other than the 1M has consistency.

Hi Kvak,

I have been trying to change the value of the fixed maximum for rsioma(++xuhisto) to 120 (trying to place this indicator along with an oscillator in the same subwindow) but the value keeps reverting automatically to 110 if you change timeframe or symbol. Can you take a look please if it can be easily fixed?

Yes, it is hard coded... I wouldn't have thought that someone would want to put something in the same window....why?
BTW here is input menu with number of indicator maximum....

Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth: patiently bearing till he receive the early and latter rain.
Behold, we account them blessed who have endured. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.

Thank you for the fix Kvak!
Here is my subwindow, using with parabolic averages difference as background (avoids having the parabolic in the main window):
