At 20:09 on December 4, 2022, Beijing time, the return capsule of the Shenzhou 14 manned spacecraft landed successfully at the Dongfeng Landing Field. The manned flight mission was a complete success.
At 19:20, the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center issued a return command through the ground measurement and control station, and the orbital module of the Shenzhou 14 manned spacecraft was successfully separated from the return module. After that, the spacecraft returned to the braking engine to ignite, and the return module was separated from the propulsion module. After the return capsule successfully landed, the search and rescue team responsible for the search and rescue mission discovered the target in time and arrived at the landing site. After the door of the return cabin was opened, medical supervisors and medical insurance personnel confirmed that the astronauts were in good health.
The Shenzhou XIV manned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on June 5, 2022, and then docked with the Tianhe core module to form a combination. During the 6-month stay in orbit, the three astronauts carried out three out-of-cabin activities, completed the installation and commissioning of the space station's internal and external equipment and space application mission-related facilities and equipment, and carried out a series of space science and technology experiments. Welcomed the visit of 2 space station cabins, 1 manned spacecraft, and 1 cargo spacecraft, cooperated with the ground to complete the assembly and construction of the "T" basic configuration of China's space station, and completed the first on-orbit handover with the astronauts of Shenzhou 15 , witnessed many historic moments such as the world record for the fastest rendezvous and docking of the cargo spacecraft and the space station, and used the mission gap to conduct a "Tiangong Classroom" space lecture, as well as a series of unique science education and cultural communication activities.
Chen Dong became the first Chinese astronaut to stay in orbit for more than 200 days.
