Hi josi,

I have to admit that I do enjoy and appreciate your insightful and thoughtful suggestions (about the various indicators) to the coders!

Keep it up, I'm learning all the time :thumbup: :)

It is because I like this indicator but I don't think the signals are very good:
This is meant as a suggestion (and not at all any kind of criticism):
If one takes into account how this indicator works (2 lines crossing and recrossing, tendentially going in opposite directions), a signal whenever the lines cross is
a) almost always too late (because half the move may already be over when lines cross)
b) the bigger the last move, the longer the distance to the next possible cross
The same problem arises if you take zero-cross for signals.
Logically speaking (ideally?) the best point for such an indicator to give a signal is when it has reached extremes (with both lines) and moves away from these extremes.
So one could either think about
a) Stoch-style-level-signals or
b) slope-change-signals (but these would only work with considerable smoothing of the lines).
I think if it could be done in such a way the indicator signals might turn out to be extremely good.
I make this version, you may try.
Have signal MA and you may choose now 4 logic for coloring.
Also have price smoothing. If you add price smooth = 0. Have nonsmoothing version.
Good or not good...give feedback :)

Brilliant work kvak!! Truly amazing skills you have :thumbup:

It's looking and working great on my charts combined with your 2XMA but I and the rest of the community are looking forward to @josi's insightful and critical feedback which is highly appreciated. Since these were his suggestions ;)

Looks good! Clean and easy to read. As long as you follow the trend all is good. I like the use of your Semaphores, Did you just adjust your settings for that? I may do the same:)

Hi JonIn,

Thanks for the comment :) Yes, I do like my charts to be clean and easily readable! I did adjust the settings for the semaphores. I've used XARD's system before but unfortunately you cannot adjust or change the semaphores in XU-12.

So I use my trusty Lucky Reversal :sweat: It is the same as XARD's semaphores as it is based on the zigzag. Thanks to kvak and mrtools with their amazing coding skills it is much more configurable. So I have 2 Lucky Reversal indicators on the charts. One with a setting of 26 and the other with a setting of 60 (for the final PFH or PFL), i.e the large circle ;)

In addition to those I have @kvak's 2xMA, a CCi indicator and @kvak's updated Didi Index smooth indicator. That's it :D

Here are the indicators and the template I am using ;)

Warmest regards,
BeatlemaniaSA

Thank you, kvak, very interesting!
First impression: it lags - as it must (smoothing) - but shows movements pretty well.
In the upper subwindow I use smoothed LWMA (which seems to give an earlier signal than smoothed EMA; but, of course, therefore also more false signals)
(PS: colour Aqua cannot be altered)
I think to get the most out of it, inputs need to be adjusted for longer trending moves (with fading momentum); screenshot 2

Hi guys,

Just a quick update to let you know how I trade using the setup that I provided in my previous post. I hope the moderators won't mind me posting it here. I apologize if it's not in the right thread :)

No post can be made without thanking the amazing work of the master coders here, namely, Mrtools, Kvak, XARD777, Banzai. As well as all the other contributors who have suggested various indicators. The indicators you guys have so graciously amended, tweaked and enhanced for the benefit of all here are just awesome :)

Below are 2 charts of my currently running trade. I will most likely exit soon (as both have exceeded their ADR by quite a bit already) and then wait for the retracement to enter again :sweat: Questions and suggestions are welcomed.

Warmest regards,
BeatlemaniaSA

Update: TP1 just hit on SP500 :)

Dear @BeatlemaniaSA,

Thank you for sharing your indicators of your choice, the nice setups and even the "tutorial" on how to take trades based on those indications.
However i've just noticed a-very-minor stuff to update on your template (Didi 2 x MA.tpl) inside the shared "Didi Index 2XMA.zip" package file. Here is what i noticed:

Inside the TPL, it calls a custom indicator:

Code: Select all

<indicator>
name=Custom Indicator
<expert>
name=Didi index(mtf + alerts + lines) mod
But, the indicator included in the package was "Didi index smooth.ex4"

So, if it won't be any trouble, would you be kindly share the most recent TPL for the package.

Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
