It takes a lot of time to download each indicator from the download thread: viewtopic.php?f=578462&t=8472845&start=340
and app.php/attach/6?sk=a&sd=d

Suggestion:
The idea here is to encourage participation by all.
You would need/understand an indicator for you to make a conscious effort to single it out and download.
Unless a fellow is only coming here to perform a AYCE.
All you can eat stunt, in this case all you can grab.
Which is not good

Thank you for your reply.

I can understand that you make the choice for a less friendly interface to attract beginners in hopes they stay here and become a frequent member.

My suggestion is to open up this functionality still, but only for members:
- who are actively on the forum for at least 2, 3 or 6 months
- who have the status: senior member
- who posted 25+ posts on this forum OR 3 threads that has at least 20 total replies

This way you broaden the audience:
- for beginners (new members)
- for advanced (old members). Mostly people who have been in forex (or programming in trading) over 1 year, will be back if they decide to take a break from forex. Old members have already read the instructions on the indicators and only need to quickly download the updates instead of spending another 24hours to download a couple of indicators. That time, it's better he uses his time contributing on the forum, sharing ideas, helping out with indicator improvements. Not everyone knows about ctrl + tab, ctrl + w, ctrl + click hotkeys to quickly navigate on the download thread, nor have knowledge about Internet Download Managers but this way you are forcing them to which may not be the most effective way.

Hi new guy! Welcome to the forum. You're quite a chatty new member aren't you!

Onto some of the main "issues" you've noted.

"Images on pages don't work after a while"
Not true. Pictures won't show due to users "hot linking" and posting images which are from sites that no longer exist or no longer host those images anymore and is not an issue on our end. The only issue on our end that we've picked up is prior to our forum being migrated back in March 2017 to newer Phpbb Forum software a small handful of older posts from February 2017 to April 2017 have been broken and are not displaying properly when "quoted" but we are onto this and cleaning up these bad posts as the weeks go by.

"Issue with adding an image when making a new reply in a thread"
It's not hard. Just click on the "Attachments" button below and pick your photo.

"It is not possible to download files directly from the download page"
Correct. And no, it won't be changed.

"I cannot use ctrl + b to bold text in a reply"
Neither can any one else here ;)
Within the next few months we'll look into upgrading the reply box to a more user-friendly WYSIWYG editor but for now you'll just have to go old school and use BB Codes in the current one here.

"When I click on the reply or 'quote' button in a thread, I cannot type instantly because the page is loading which causes the 'text field' to shift a bit downwards"
Most of us have never had an issue posting a reply but we will look into this and try some tweaks to speed up and eliminate the issue.

"Users are unable to drag and drop images from the thread to their computer desktop. The 'image tool' prevents this which causes the happy dream to quickly save images fly away."
We don't support drag and drop images yet. Just right-click and chose Save As. Easy!

"Many images in threads do not work (probably because the links were temporary)"
Correct. As noted above, any images that are not working are because the poster has used images from a source that is no longer available (ie. a dodgy website, a website that is blocking resources through their Robots.txt, etc.). It is not an issue on our end and obviously can be avoided if members use the correct "Attachments" function so that the images are hosted onto our server.

"Is there a way to download a bunch of indicators at once?"
No.

"Search function is not ideal"
Sadly, most forum search tools aren't. Our hands are tied as this function is totally due to the Phpbb forum software we use. In time we may look at upgrading the forum software but for now, most members are able to get by with the search function.

"Make the first post in all threads (on this forum) editable (no expiration date)"
No. We won't be doing that for now. Why? Because we've had childish members in the past who would completely remove all of their posts and attachments if they weren't happy with responses in their threads which caused disruption to the forum.

"Images are loading much slower (in comparison to other forums)"
Hmmm not for me! Images are quite snappy here. However, In time we'll upgrade our servers when traffic increases but until then you'll just have to grin and bear it.
As you are new here you probably don't know this but we aren't funded by big brokers or sponsors - we are funded by our own trading accounts and most importantly we are funded by you, (the visitor who does not block our three Google ads). So until we are able to attract more loyal members and visitors you might just have to wait a couple of more seconds for our images to load. And if it becomes completely unbearable for your poor soul please feel free to use other trading forums instead. The world is your oyster!
