QuestionIs this why EAs fail in live trading?

If you set up a robot in MT4 with a fixed spread of 1.0 for instance, the close price (Bid) will always have the same distance from Ask.
but once you put it live, the close price will be different, depending on the spread : if the spread is high, the bid price will be away form the middle line
so all your algorithms that use close price will behave differently (especially tick scalpers)

that's why I would recommend using (Ask+Bid)/ 2.0 as the price in your algos, because it gets rid of the spread, and shows a price that is closer to a fixed spread.

am I right in my logic or is it bullsh*t (lol) ? I think of using this logic from now on.
