GBPJPY London Opening

I waited for a trendline break with a good volume candle, not the safest trade as we had no second dot and no bearish black level above. The EWO osc and VWAP convinced me to short it down to the Tokyo Fix (it went for the Asian session liquidity) and closed at opening line. When you are not sure what to do, don't do it ;)

This morning is even, I've lost a trade on DAX, but today is news day, so we know markets are pretty "strange" to trade during London.

This is the DAX lost trade. I think it's interesting to share.

We got trendline break, good volume, multiple bullish levels and the open line below us, 25 ADR, EWO and VWAP in agreement for a LONG.
This is a classic example that no system is the holy grail, it's always a matter of statistical edge.

One element I underestimated is the fact the DAX had not caught the Tokyo Fix before my trade, thing that obviously happened later ;)
My stop-loss was good below open line and below a bullish level, unfortunately price spiked down before reverting, c'est la vie!

Folks - as we know it's important to differentiate a good breakout from a fake one.

I added the 3 starting templates updated with an extra indicator that can help to identify good breakout bars. Try it.

Good morning

BTCUSD trade idea.

If it breaks the trendline, its a long scalp to the next bullish levels at least.
This is a counter trend so not advised.

Hi Cagliostro,
Thank you for your System.
Can you make the indicator of ZZ1 and ZZ2 to reduce the size?
(example : When I change from 16 to 5 its not active after refresh, it resume to 16 again)

Thank you.

Hello there, not at the moment as I did not make those indicators. When I find time I will rewrite them to make them a bit more customizable.

I usually analyze markets 1h before London open and decide what to trade.
May I ask how would you know/detect the selling pressure?

I have a few ideas, but not sure what was the real situation.
- Was it news related?
- Was there a HTF supply box there combined with liquidity pools?
- Murrey lines were in the oversold/upper segment? (8/8 to +2/8)?
