I have little doubt that sooner or later there will be human colonies on other places, but I doubt anything beyind science bases can be achieved in the next century.

How many years did it take from the first powered flight to landing on the moon? Get a few powerful countries in a pissing contest and who knows what can be achieved.

Landing somewhere is not the issue. Staying there is. I could see a Moon colony, perhaps. Successfully staying on Mars in the long term means solving so many issues, from water, to air, to food, to gravity, to solar radiation since Mars is lacking a protective magnetic field, not to mention the massive dangers on the way there, including how the crew would take the trip psychologically...it's a lot of work. I think it's possible, but it will just take time.
