If you play around with it for a while, you find that it is excellent for showing divergence.

I would use a longer-period-MA as filter (EURUSD last week showed that nicely);
but of course it depends on the TF you trade
on H1 one could, for example, think about EMA 120 (24 hours x 5 days = weekly average)
