Also you can simply change the visualization option for the indicator to a timeframe that you don't use (like M1) and turn it off for all other timeframes and the indicator will vanish but remain active with your settings and can be restored when needed.

How about - first contact with the band edge - and then alert again only if price moves down across the centerline? It turns out that Mladen made something with alerts a long time ago...
