I don't think NATO has any intention of sending troops, they just want the Ukraine to be a thorn in Russia's side and are happy to fund it so long as the clown Zelensky keeps playing his part while watching the destruction of his own country.

Read the 2 Minsk agreements, all Russia wanted was the nazi militias' be removed from east Ukraine and order restored, the EU and the US signed it and then made sure it never happened.

If Russia manages to annex these regions they will have successfully cut the Ukraine off from the access to the Black Sea and it's game over. Sending a Million Russians there to Russonize these regions may do the trick to make it permanent.

The EU and the US have handled this so badly but even they must think twice before giving Russia an excuse and go further and take Odessa and Mikolaiv as well as the 4 border regions.
