Important Update for MetaTrader 4 build 1080

The MetaTrader 4 platform update will be released on May 12, 2017. We strongly recommend that you install this update.

A month ago, Microsoft released a major update of their operating system Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703). After installing this update, some users were unable to run MQL4 programs in their terminals. This issue has been fixed in the new MetaTrader 4 platform build 1080. Now, Expert Advisors and indicators will run on charts correctly, while recompilation using the updated MetaEditor is not required.

Support for MetaTrader 4 client terminal versions below 1065 will be discontinued on the 1st of October 2017. Unsupported terminal builds will not be able to connect to new server versions. We strongly recommend that you update your terminals in advance.

The update will be available through the LiveUpdate system.

As with every new build, it is better not to rush with accepting. All the bugs that will be found will be fixed in the next 1 to 2 mounts and then would be appropriate to accept the update :)

Build 1090 should be avoided - compiler produces random errors in ex4 files that are preventing display of values

Some of the issues of mt5 solved in new builds of mt5
Build 1090 of mt4 still remains the same - no updates or bug fixes

MetaQuotes stops selling MT4 platform licenses

PLATFORMS JANUARY 12, 2018 — BY VALENTINA KIRILOVA

Forex trading platform developer MetaQuotes just announced that it has stopped selling MetaTrader 4 platform licenses to new customers.

The MetaTrader 4 trading platform was released more than 12 years ago. Its architecture was designed under the limitations of that time, due to which it is no longer possible to implement new features that meet today’s increased requirements of the industry, including brokers’ and traders’ demands.

MetaQuotes ended the development of MetaTrader 4 in early 2015. Now, three years later, the developer decided to discontinue the sales of this software and has stopped selling MetaTrader 4 platform licenses to new customers, including additional servers to existing clients. However, MetaTrader 4 brokers will be able to order additional White Label terminals and receive comprehensive technical support. MetaQuotes will also keep releasing security updates and bug fixes for the said platform.

Additional functions and improvements will only be implemented in MetaTrader 5. The new-generation platform is based on modern architecture and fully supports various functions from the older version (such as hedging and reports on positions). MetaTrader 5 is a high-performance scalable platform which supports operation on multiple markets, including Forex, CFDs, stocks, futures, metals and cryptocurrencies. A large-scale infrastructure comprising of third-party solutions has already formed around MetaTrader 5. Technology companies, such as Fortex, Gold-i, oneZero, PrimeXM and Tools For Brokers among others, have adapted their products to MetaTrader 5 and offer various solutions to help brokers with migrating to the new platform.

What's new in MetaTrader 5

12 January 2018 - MetaTrader 5 Platform Build 1745

MetaTrader 5 build 1745 will be the last platform version supporting Microsoft Windows XP/2003/Vista.

A few months ago, we announced end of support for older versions of operating systems. Windows 2003, Windows Vista and especially Microsoft Windows XP are outdated operating systems. Microsoft ended support for Windows XP three years ago, because potential hardware capabilities could no longer be realized on this system due to technical limitations.
MetaTrader 5 build 1745 and older versions will continue to work on the above operating systems, but will no longer receive updates. Platform installers will not run on these operating systems.

The minimum required operating system version for running MetaTrader 5 is Windows 7. However, we strongly recommend using the 64-bit version of Windows 10.
