Gann Indicators

There are so many variations and styles of Gann indicators, so this thread is being opened to post all kind Gann indicators here at one place for ease of users. The most commonly used of these are the Gann HiLo Activator indicators.

What is the Gann High Low (HiLo) Activator?

The HiLo Activator study was developed by Robert Krausz as a component of the Gann Swing trading strategy. This trend-following indicator not only reveals the present trend direction but also serves as an entry signal and trailing stop.

How is the Gann HiLo Activator calculated?

• The system computes the high and low prices's moving averages across the previous few candles. Typically, the average is determined based on the last three candles.
• In case the closing price drops below the average low or surpasses the average high, the system will display the inverse moving average.
  For instance, if the price exceeds the average high, the system will show the average low. If the price then falls below the average low, the system will cease plotting the average low and will begin plotting the average high, and so on.

An important note by MLADEN regarding what and how to deal with all "Gann high-low activator" version indicators

One must keep in mind when this indicator was invented. Gann high low activator was invented a very long time ago, in a time when only Daily charts were used for trading.

Use the older Gann indicators on the Daily chart, then go from there

A lot of people are using it on other time frames now, but the starting point for Gann indicators should be Daily charts and then evolve and test on some other TFs
