CCI Variation by Mladen

Far as I known this is Mladen's invention:

Theory:

The commodity channel index (CCI) is an oscillator originally introduced by Donald Lambert in 1980. It is calculated as:

(price - average) / (0.015 * mean absolute deviation)

This version:

In this version we are adding (changing) the following:

Option to change the mean absolute deviation to:

• standard deviation
• ATR (average true range)
• option to chose to smooth the value of such a "CCI"
• option to change color on zero crosses or on slope direction change
• Is the same as in regular CCI (if smoothing is not used):

- the crosses of the zero line will always be exactly the same as in regular CCI (regardless if you use ATR or standard deviation for calculation)

What is different :

- levels are not going to be the same (that will eventually need adjustments if you are used to use levels when using CCI for trading decisions)

- slope of the CCI is not going to be the same

Usage:

You can use the color changes for signals.

I did a version hopefully it works close to his. About the extended added prices, averages, more deviation types, and the Donchian channel. Alerts are when the color changes.

Didn't think of this before, was messing with different settings and it finally dawned on me this might be good with a sort of floating zero line, so made an option in the coloring to make a middle Donchian line and make an option to either use zero cross or mid Donchian cross coloring.

Using double smoothed ADXvma with adaptive ema deviation on USDJPY 4 hour chart on the bottom picture the trade was good for over a month and a lot of pips, but it always looks good in hindsight.

Shoot Mrtoolz I totally missed 2 nice CCI Variation indicators only see them now........ and I have a huge crush on indicators you release with shadow or color filling options I love it and this is a big money maker using default settings once the CCI highlights and touches the channels on 4H chart it is a contender for one of the BEST trend trade indicators

This is a damn good indicator that you can use and take trades just off this thing alone I cannot fault it and no changes to the settings... phenomenal

A very cool invention Andrei the giant....... a TRIPLE CCI using MACD for price wow!! You may use it when it crosses 100 levels to enter trend - not counter trend!! It's great

CCI Study Enhanced

The CCI Study represents a non-repainting Commodity Channel Index, achieved by utilizing an alternative average in the calculation of the indicator, aimed at generating quicker responses and signals.

Here is request for updated version of CCI study.
In this indicator you may choose average method for calculate cci ( original is simple MA)
And also use smoothing for cci.
Indicator have MTF, alerts/arrows are for enter/exiting levels.
Some averages is possible use only for calculate cci ( not for smoothing or signal) like kijun,ptl....

This is pm request two cci with different periods, colors based on zero cross with trend histogram on zeroline ( two or three colors ).

Hi , there are so many CCI indicators I have been looking through. I am trying to find one that has arrows/alerts for crossing the zero line . All seem to be for crossing the +/- 100. Any one able to save me some time and paste a zero cross CCI indicator. Most grateful !!
