Nopes that would be very risky volatility means price reacted for you to make entry out ot this line first do top down analysis from 4h to 15 minutes to see market direction first maybe then you can buy on low tf when market align with htf trend just an suggestion not advice

To trade the news, switch to the 1minute chart and wait for the news release. If the news is positive for the USD, gold will likely drop. First, wait it will drop instantly then you need to catch the FVG or Order Block created by the drop. In SMC terms, watch for a breakout (Change of Character or Choch) which must happens. Then, look for a rejection at the recent FVG or Order Block. If the price shows rejection and all indicators align, you can enter the trade.
Keep in mind, it takes a lot of experience to master this since it’s on the 1-minute chart!
