Confluence Edge — Adaptive Trend Engine with 4 Trading Styles + MTF Confidence Score (MT5)




Following up on, I wanted to introduce my other MT5 indicator: Confluence Edge. The idea behind it is a bit different — instead of stacking multiple independent indicators to confirm a trade idea, I built a single engine that lets you pick a "trading style" and automatically checks it against a higher timeframe, then scores the result into one confidence number.

The core idea

A trend signal is only as useful as the context around it. Confluence Edge is built around one trend engine that you can tune to your style, always checked against a higher timeframe, with every reading scored for confidence instead of just firing a plain arrow.

1. Four trading style profiles

Instead of exposing a dropdown with a dozen technical moving average names, Confluence Edge simplifies the choice into 4 commercial profiles, each with a different reactivity/stability trade-off:

- Conservative — moves only on confirmed direction, most resistant to noise
- Adaptive — speeds up in trends, slows down in choppy markets
- Aggressive — reacts faster to genuine price swings
- Ultra Aggressive — fastest response, low-lag, no slowdown in choppy conditions

You can set the entry timeframe profile and the higher-timeframe confirmation profile independently — they don't have to match. For example, you could run Aggressive on the entry timeframe with Conservative on the higher timeframe confirmation, for faster entries filtered by a more stable macro read.

2. Multi-timeframe confirmation, built in

You choose any higher timeframe and Confluence Edge recalculates the same engine on it internally — no need to open a second chart or manually cross-reference two indicators. The HTF read is shown directly on the current chart (dashed line + state), so you always know if your entry timeframe is aligned with the bigger picture or fighting it.

3. Live confidence score

Every signal comes with a 0-100 confidence score, built from several independent components evaluated together — among them:

- Volume ratio relative to its average
- Distance from the trend line
- EMA alignment
- Market regime (trending / ranging / volatile)
- Distance of the previous bar from the trend line

A signal only counts as valid once it clears a minimum confidence threshold (configurable), so the same "flip" on the trend line doesn't automatically mean "trade this now" — you get a sense of how strong the read actually is.

4. Regime awareness

Confluence Edge also classifies the current market condition — trending, ranging, or volatile — using an ADX-based read combined with the engine's own state. This matters because the same signal means different things in a strong trend versus a choppy range, and the regime badge gives you that context at a glance instead of having to infer it from raw price action.

Dashboard & alerts

A clean on-chart panel (dark fintech-style theme) shows the current market read at a glance: LTF signal, HTF trend, market regime, and the live confidence bar — no digging through the Data Window needed.

Alerts fire on confirmed trend flips and on new Buy/Sell signals that clear your minimum confidence threshold, with popup/push/email options, each write-once per bar (no duplicate spam on the same signal).


No repaint

Same principle as all my other indicators: signals are confirmed on closed bars, not repainted retroactively. What you see historically is what you would have seen live.
