I’m not sure if I can upload the 'ctrl tab.ahk' file here. You can open it with Notepad and check the code with any AI to verify it's safe, but the forum just won't let me post the raw text.

I’m pretty sure something like this could be integrated into a Symbol Changer. However, I prefer doing my chart layouts and markings by hand, and the problem with Symbol Changers is that when you switch assets, they keep all your drawing objects on the same chart, just at different price levels...

Switch Timeframes Keys for MetaTrader

When trading using multiple timeframes, switching them quickly can be such a hassle in MetaTrader! That is why you will find our Switch Timeframes Keys tool helpful as it lets you easily change timeframes using your preferred keyboard shortcuts.

What is timeframe?
A timeframe is a time property of a chart point. It is a time resolution of a chart. In trading, each bar or candle represents the price movement during a specific period. The length of this period is equal to the chart's timeframe.

For example, if the chart's timeframe is M5 (5 minutes), each candle there will represent the Open, High, Low, and Close price during a separate 5-minute period.

The higher (larger) is the timeframe, the fewer candles it takes to chart the same period. The lower (smaller) is the timeframe, the more candles it takes to depict the same slice of chart history.

Consequently, lower timeframes offer a higher resolution view into the price changes with a disadvantage of it being too noisy, while higher timeframes offer less detail, but offer a more concise summary of when was going on.

Switch Timeframes Keys is a Utility indicator that Works in both MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5).

Switch Timeframes Keys offers the following features :

  • Switch through timeframes down or up using separate keyboard shortcuts.

  • Add it to your default chart template to use it on all the new charts that you open.
  • Omit timeframes that you don't use.
  • Switch timeframes for all open charts simultaneously.
  • Switch timeframes with arrow keys and some other special keys.
