600 drones & 90 missiles is a huge amount (especially that number of missiles) that has only ever been used in a day before on the entire country not a single city.
Russia had warned international embassy staff to leave Kiev and yesterday EU number 2 Kaja Kallas said that only the US moved their staff. The US later denied this but some say the statement was made to calm the Kiev public.
The new campaign is a major escalation by the Russians and comes just after Zelensky wrote a pleading letter to Trump begging for more US Patriot air defence missiles.
Meanwhile recent updates from US intel, UK intel, US prof Pape and a UK head of the European spy network have all come up with the figure of Russia approaching 1.5 million dead and wounded since the war start.
That’s amazingly concise coming from multiple independent sources so it must be true right?
Funny though how they directly reflect Ukraine’s own official figures that appear on this thread everyday, figures that are known to be pulled straight from Zelensky’s arse.
Mediazona used to compile casualty data from open source information and had a reputation for independence and accuracy until January of 2025 when they suddenly changed the way they collated their data adding a new ‘estimate’ component. From that moment on Mediazona fell into line with the official propaganda narrative.
Mediazona’s original method actually shows a major declining rate of Russian casualties since 2025 and is in line with Russia’s known change of tactics, Those changes were to fall back during Ukrainian counterattacks and so allowing the Ukrainians to form their own cauldron while the Russians amassed troops to counter attack the counterattack.
Once in a cauldron the usual tactics apply, artillery and drone strikes from the sides and once softened a push by the Russians with superior numbers up the middle.
But declining Russian losses were not part of the script hence the new invigorated propaganda campaign to convince the public the opposite is true.
The Ukraine data on Russian losses are projection, those numbers are more in line with Ukrainian losses not Russian. Ukrainians are being used to soften the Russians for a NATO war sometime after 2030. That’s the western European leader’s only hope to save themselves from this complete debacle they brought upon themselves.
And spare a thought for poor old Finland and Sweden who signed up to NATO thinking they were going to get a share of the Russian spoils after Putin was overthrown but now find themselves in the frontline of a new European war.
Sweden suddenly finds itself needing to host 17 US military bases, sounds just like Ukraine immediately after the 2014 coup.
Some interesting side notes on oil. Price is holding between 95 and 105 because the US is supplying South Korea and Japan from their reserves, the US itself is relatively self sufficient though it needs to import some heavy oil from Canada to mix with it’s own light grade oil.
The main factor causing the current stability though is that China has stopped buying altogether and is drawing from it’s reserves alone. So there’s an overall decrease in market demand which is balancing the overall decrease in supply.
US reserves are known and are diminishing fast but no one really knows how long the big user China can keep going before they need to re-enter the market.
