No, you see the US produces its own oil so the countries who actually need Gulf oil are the ones who must gather ships to force the Straits open again, stands to reason.
And by the way, so far, according to Trump, the US has gone to great lengths to keep Iranian civilian casualties down to just thousands. But that might not be the case in future, the US has a deadline after all.
But apart from those minor operational issues the war in Iran is going very well, apparently.
Meanwhile the rest of America is contemplating oil heading to $200 a barrel and fuel to $7 a gallon but apparently that will be the fault of market speculators, not the closure of shipping lanes.
And we must also be wondering how come dozens of heads of state are not clambering for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to put pressure on the US and Iran to resolve the situation before whole nations collapse due to fuel shortages.
This is quickly turning into another Covid level disaster event and no one is saying a word, very curious, have they all had a memo or something?
European nations have cut Russian oil and gas, have now lost supply from Qatar, and half the world's LNG tankers are stranded useless in the Gulf. What are the European heads of state going to do? Who knows? The silence is deafening.
Reminder that both Gabbard (US intel chief) and Caine (US military chief) both advised Trump not to start this fiasco. So it’s not surprising that the US military now are not really that keen to jump in and are trying to keep it to a minimum.
Trump really needs to go back to those who did advise him to embark on this fiasco (Netanyahu and the US neocons) and ask them how to get himself out, strangely they’ve all gone very quiet of late.
It should also be noted that Iran spent decades preparing for this conflict and are ready with a hammer blow of hypersonic ballistic missiles to rain down on any attempt by the US navy to come near.
The actual sinking of US warships will demonstrate the definite end of US military dominance in the region and the Iranians are looking forward to the opportunity.
The US will remain a great power but they will not be able, thereafter, to solve every problem by just bombing everyone.
That is Iran’s objective and the Trump admin is only just starting to realise the trap they’ve walked into.
Trump can either negotiate and give up something (sanctions, bases or money) in which case the US has suffered a loss in plain sight but can still pretend bravado, or Trump can lose naval ships and show the world complete failure and the actual, demonstrable weakness of the US military, the repercussions of which will last for years.
And something else to look forward to, the Houthis, who also have ballistic missiles, are now threatening to join Iran and close down shipping in the Red Sea. Already the US carrier Gerald Ford currently in the Red Sea heading for the Gulf is having doubts about passing Houthis controlled territory in Yemen.
And finally, Team Trump is still talking of sending troops to Khag island. Will the Iranians see this also as an opportunity to humiliate the US military and be willing to sacrifice their oil infrastructure by missile striking the island to kill thousands of US troops? Of course they will you morons.
