Now, here's the same XAUUSD, but on H1 time frame. The rules seem to apply also perfectly. I have tried in 22 pairs and the vast majority holds true. Some better than others, but... that's the name of the game! None of the screenshots were cherry-picked. They were all taken this afternoon, just before New York closing.
