Ukraine was taking on the Russians in missile production. But whatever happened to all the wonder weapons, the attacms, storm shadows, scalp, tarus, or the Sapsan or the Flamingo?
Ukraine is not actually competing with Russia in missile production now but drone production.
Err, Ukraine was winning the drone war we were told but now they tell us that they launched 1.5 million drones in 2024 while Russia launched 4 million.
Meanwhile, Zelensky is meeting with Trump at the upcoming UN general assembly. Not sure why given that the Europeans are his handlers now.
We can be sure the meeting will be another begging session, Zelensky will be complaining that the Europeans don’t give him enough and how he yearns for the good old days when he could just pitch up at White House at the drop of a hat and walk off with a cool $60 billion in his back pocket.
You have to wonder why Trump keeps agreeing to these constant demands for meetings that are always just demands for money and weapons and troops. Just saying no once should be enough.
Gone is all the noise about the ground war, the missiles, the drones, they didn’t get the response hoped for (the US riding to the rescue). So now it’s all about Russian Mig fighter jets trespassing over NATO air space, surely now the Americans will do something like implement a no fly zone over Ukraine at least.
At this stage the Europeans can’t be trusted to tell the truth on anything and you would need to ask why would the Russians even bother trying to provoke these clowns anyway.
What’s more likely is the Europeans crying wolf after Pentagon officials told European leaders in August that the U.S. plans to cut back military aid to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
Not only that but commentators are saying the US has again said no more patriot missiles for Europe (or Ukraine), it may be that the US is getting ready for hostilities breaking out in the middle east again.
Looking at the graphic below on Ukrainian claims of interceptions of Russian drones are around a thousand a week for many months now which seems a lot given that the US only makes 600 patriot missiles a year and that often 4 are fired at each target. Sure there are air defence types other than patriots but there are not many of them left either.
The important point is that all the west has now is talk, they have nothing else despite getting very desperate that NATO is losing and losing badly. These current European leaders are going to fall with their reputation in tatters, they are currently plotting ways to massively escalate the conflict and get the US involved to avoid it and to save themselves.
It’s just not going to happen for the same reason the US won’t impose crippling sanctions on China and India, it would do more harm to themselves than to Russia.
Russia meanwhile is simply carrying on steadily destroying the Ukrainian army (demilitarisation), Ukrainian villages are being depopulated of men across the country. Eventually the Russian army will get to the Zelensky regime and destroy that as well (denazification).
The west can’t stop it as has been demonstrated since the failed Ukrainian summer offensive of 2023. Only the Zelensky regime can stop it before there is total collapse.
