Let's be real – Europe hasn't exactly been asleep at the wheel these last three years when it comes to Ukraine. They've been actively throwing support into the ring, and I'm not just talking about sending over helmets. We're talking tanks, missiles, the whole nine yards. Sure, you've got Hungary and Slovakia sitting on the sidelines, but the rest of Europe has been fully engaged in this mess.wojtek wrote: Fri Feb 14, 2025 5:57 am Of course. This is only a general association, as the situation now
is obviously much different from the one immediately after WW2.
Besides, it is not known how the current situation will develop.
Trump is not a politician but a businessman, so the way he conducts
negotiations does not have to be typical of politics. Etc.
Nevertheless, many people in Europe are writing about the second
Yalta today; moreover, the upcoming conference in Munich
is even being compared to Munich 1938 with Mr. Chamberlain
(I wouldn't go that far). People simply have their own associations,
which do not have to - zum Glück - come true.
But what I meant was mainly that Europe has slept through the last 3 years
on resolving the situation in Ukraine. The complaints against Trump
that he is resolving it in this way and not another are absurd in this context.
Europe should finally think seriously about its military / defense policy
and start doing something about it. Europe's potential is very large,
but it is currently often wasted on unnecessary and unimportant matters.

But here's the thing: it feels like Europe's betting the farm on one play. They're convinced they can squeeze Russia until it breaks, even though that's backfired on them before. It's like they haven't learned a thing! And let's be honest, Ukraine's kind of stuck in the middle of all this. They're playing the hand they're dealt, but who's really calling the shots? It feels like Ukraine is just doing what their backers tell them to do. Picture describes it very well.
