;) :yawn:
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) analyzed the column of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny in The Economist, in which he stated the positional nature of Russia's war against Ukraine.

This is reported by Khvyla, referring to the new report of the Institute for the Study of War.

Analysts point out that Zaluzhnyi's article more clearly reveals the reasoning of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about what changes Ukraine needs to move away from the "positional" stage of the war that is currently underway.

Thus, Zaluzhny noted that the hostilities in Ukraine are gradually moving into a "positional form" and in order to get out of this situation, Ukraine needs:
gain air superiority;
break through mine barriers in depth;
increase the effectiveness of counter-battery fighting;
create and train the necessary reserves;
to increase the capabilities of electronic warfare.
ISW reminded that a positional war is a war that, despite the efforts of both sides to improve their positions, does not allow for quick changes. Therefore, analysts note, Zaluzhny did not declare that the war was hopeless and did not suggest that Ukraine could not succeed.

The commander-in-chief, on the contrary, focused on explaining that the positional stage is the result of technological and tactical parity on the battlefield and the extensive use of mine barriers by the Russian and Ukrainian military.
