Anyone without serious vision problems can look at the map (https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b ... .item.zoom) and see a large inscription "Vkraine ou Pays des Cosaques" (Ukraine, country Kozakov). And the Crimea there, by the way, is not Russian, but is designated "Crimean Tatars of Crimea."
