The ma period and ma method are used to smooth the lines, if you set period to 1 then you will have the same as the non smoothed Heiken ashi.

Sorry to be a bit of a bother, but I set the indicator period to 1 with the smoothing option on and compared the two indicators and it appears that they are very similar but not exactly the same. Hope it would be too much of a hassle to have arrows and alerts added to the original indicator I requested?
The dots are the Averages Heiken Ashi Smoothed Lines.
