Hi is simply the price that crosses ema, in this case it is 20 periods.
ema 1 periods> ema 20 periods

Thanks pacois; I wasn’t expecting it to be that!

By switching the candle display to a line chart display, and putting the 20ema onto the chart, I can see now how it works – thank you.
